    Description
Antique 19th Century glass loose wax seal intaglio. In a beautiful carnelian red color. Depicting a tulip beginning to wilt, with the words in French 'Je l'attends' / I'm waiting. Part of a large collection of loose wax seal intaglios matrices I am listing separately. These type of intaglio seals would have originally been used in a multi wax seal etui set, wax seal wheel, or mounted as a ring, watch or chatelaine chain fob. Their charming images and mottos make them collectible in their own right. They are perfect to use in the making of trending wax seal jewelry and pendants in casted/stamped silver and gold. Measures 1/2" x 3/8". Condition: General wear commensurate with age and use, some edge nicks as shown.
