Description
Exquisite antique 19th century French solid rock crystal quartz wax seal with 18K gold mount. Beautifully cut, faceted & tapered, the oval matrix engraved with a crown. Appears to be a crown of a marquess, or perhaps a crown of a prince. Embellished with an 18K yellow gold band centered by a turquoise colored cabochon. Hallmarked with the French eagle's head hallmark for 18K gold. The wax seal tests as quartz. In overall good antique condition. Measures 1 5/8" height x 7/8" wide, the oval matrix is 5/8" x 1/2".
